This furnace was carried by the American Medical Research Expedition to Mt. Everest and used in the record setting Pacific Crossing of the Double Eagle Balloon.
The dependable Everest Star II series builds on the 20-year success story of its predecessor with improvements such as: an electric shut-off on the gas valve, the new blower assembly that increases air delivery by 60%, and electronic ignition (no standing pilot).
Lightweight
Weighing in at just 23 pounds (10.4kg) and using only 1.10 ft3 (31.11) of space, the Everest Star II can produce 12,000, 16,000 and 20,000 BTU's per hour of input heat. The compactness of the furnace optimizes space utilization and furnace placement flexibility.
Atwood furnaces are known for their flexibility and the new Everest Star II is no exception. It offers three different vent kits for cabinet depths ranging from 20 1/2 (524mm) up to 31 1/8 (813mm).
The Atwood 8012-II is Front Discharge with the the Ultra Low Amp. Draw of 1.8. This incredibly Low Amp Draw makes this unit the most Electrically Efficient Furnace of its type on the market today. This unit is ideal for those concerned about battery drain while in the wild. The 7900 Series have an Amp. Draw of 3.4 and have Greater BTU Out-Put Ratings. The 7900 Series are Set Up for Front Discharge. (Note) Though these 7900 Series Heaters are Factory Pre-Configured for Front Discharge they are each convertable to BOTH Side and/or Front Discharge.  Atwood Excalibur 8500 IV Atwood's 8500 Series Propane Gas Furnaces are designed to be quiet and efficient. These Furnaces feature a burner and blower assembly that minimizes turbulence and increases airflow. The compact size, low profile, lightweight construction and vertical installation make these furnaces truly versatile. The Atwood Excalibur IV comes in capacities from 16,000 BTU to 34,000 BTU. All of these units have Electronic Ignition. These furnaces are 12 Volts DC with low Amp. Draw. All of the Excalibur IV measure 16 1/2'' W x 7 1/8'' H x 18'' D and have a Cutout size of 17'' W x 7 1/2 H. The Exterior Door and Thermostat are sold separately. |
